Baojun Wang PhD FRSC Prof. Baojun Wang is Qiushi Chair Professor and Director of the ZJU-HIC Institute of Synthetic Biology at Zhejiang University. He leads the Synthetic BioSystems Design Lab in the College of Chemical and Biological Engineering of Zhejiang University. Prof. Wang obtained his PhD in Bioengineering from Imperial College London, and was Reader in Synthetic Biology at the University of Edinburgh prior to his present appointment. His research focuses on developing new enabling tools for synthetic biology, and engineering customized genetic circuits for the sensing and computing of multiple cellular and environmental signals, with applications ranging from biosensing, biomanufacturing to biotherapies. Prof. Wang is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and has received many prestigious awards including the UK Research and Innovation Future Leaders Fellowship, UK BBSRC New Investigator Award, Gates Foundation Grand Challenges Explorations Award, Changjiang Scholar Chair Professorship by the Ministry of Education of China, and the Kunpeng Action Program Award of Zhejiang Province.
